We're Ready to Send the Presents

I collected presents from my students. I put them in this little box. Some of the presents are really big. Some people are not even listen what I said.

This girl made a nice gift.
Even is Small but it is colorful. She did a great job. I am ready to send it to them, I am hopping they will like their presents.

The other class prepare gifts for us. I am ready to collect their presents and sent it to them also. Everyone is so excited, they did not want to listen to me.

Exchange Present Junior One I

My Junior One I class exchanged present with students from other group. This girl prepared a gift for number 13. This gift looks very cool.
Another student prepared a candy for number 22. She also prepared a nice appearance.

Mirian got a small gift from her secret friend. She is so happy about it.


Doris and Catherine also got presents from their secret friends.

My J1I TA got a very small gift from her friend.
Everyone got small things from their secret friends. These gifts for them is something special. They really enjoyed this kind of activity.

Exchange Present Junior One A

This is my Junior one A (7th graders). In Taiwan, there's no x'mas, so I decide to have a x'mas feeling for my students. I want them to know what is x'mas. I made an exchange present for x'mas. My class exchanged their presents with people from the other class. I gave them different colors each week. Colors can be x'mas colors or something related to x'mas.

This seventh graders are very creative. They can create cards, presents and more. I really enjoy teaching them.

The most important thing in this activity is that they have to keep their secrets until the day of x'mas. For most people this part is the most difficult part. I told them from the beginning, if they told their secret friend who they are, I will cancel this activity.
Here are the blue cards for the color of the week. They did a nice creation for their friends. The most important, they cannot say who is the person who send the card.
Here is the other color from the previous week. They could bring any red things, like piece of chocolate, candy or cookies.

Nana got her present, even is small, but she is so happy. She still doesn't know who is her secret friend.



Shelly also got her present, she is guessing who is her secret friend.


Jennifer is happy, too. She wants to know who sent the present to her.
This x'mas activity can be enjoyable, but at the same time, if they got present they do not like, is a real pain. The most important part is that children enjoyed and they will know their classmates better.

Post Card Junior One I

This is my Junior One I class. They are also English Advance class. These girls always working so hard on their projects. each group are making their presentations, i really enjoy each of them. It is so nice to hear who they wrote to. Some of them wrote to me, some of them wrote to their grammar English teacher , math or science teachers. It is so nice to hear from their inside voices.
This two people wanted a perfect score, even they pronounce words wrong, they always asked me for a second chance.

One students in this above picture is shy, and another one is very active. Both of them together made a great team. I really enjoyed their courage in front of the class.


My Teacher Assistance, Glory also worked so hard on her project. Her friend Julia also wants a perfect score. Julia's English is perfect. She has native-like pronunciation. She is always worrying about her grades in my class.
Taiwanese students are always worrying about their grades. If they do not get higher grades or their parents expecting grades, their parents will hit them. I know that this situation in USA is illegal.

Post Card Junior One A

This is my junior one A. They are English advance class. each student in this class has a very good skills in English. Some studenthas native like pronounciation. This is because they parents send them to a good elementary school.

According to the study, to learn another language must be between ages 8 to 12. Children at that age will have native like pronounciation. This class is not very cute but also they have very intelligent girls. I gave them a project. We've been studying unit 5 from the book Impact Topic. The last page of this unite is that they have to write letters to their friends.

I made them to imagine that they are in overseas. they have to make a post card and send to their families or friends. Also, they have to create a stamp. They can draw stamps or they can cute from magazines. Believe me or not, these kids did a wonderful job.

After they made their post cards, they have to introduce their post cards to the entire class. they have to tell us how do they make it, wy do they choose the country and for who they wrote to.
This gropu of my junior one A is very active. because of them, my class can be very fun. They always like to act and they use a lot of their imaginations.

This group of stduents were telling us about their post cards. They worked so hard for 20 points. Some classes did not even care about 20 points.

This group also worked so hard from the begining. I know they want a full score. they also draw their own stamps. It was so fun to see all of them using good of English.
Overall, this project is so fun for them to create. They really enjoyed creating an talking to their partners. i am just hopping that they will keep their hard work for future.

Fashion Show Junior One E

This is my junior One E class. This class is very cute. They are very polite and kind. They know how to take care of people. As their teacher, I am very proud of them. Group one had very comfortable clothing. They all like comfortable shirts. They are so cute on their normal clothing.

This group is a little active. They have different kinds of styles.
This group also has another kind of style. They suppose to present they have picture on their t-shirts.
This is a perfect group for them. These students over there want to be perfect. They all dressed up with cute designs. They are very cute, too.

My Teacher assistance, Jane, is the tallest one in this group. They wore beach style. Can you see the differences?
I really enjoy giving them challenging about their projects. They all enjoyed their projects and use their imaginations. I am really happy, they did a great job!


Fashion Show Junior One B

This is my Junior One B (7th Graders). We studied about all kinds of clothing on unit 5th. We studied basic clothing vocabulary like jeans, T-shirt, skirts, mittens, shirts and more.

To do something in my class, I decided to do fashion show. I divide students into 4 groups each, Each of them has to create their own style. For example, informal, formal, casual, swimming suit, sporting, and more.

Group members has to wear the same, for example, if they want to wear jeans, everyone should wear jeans.

More than that, they should introduce each other. They should tell what other members of the group are wearing. They should introduce in English.
Group number one wore jeans, they have all kinds of jeans: black, white, and blue. They have different colors but same styles. At least this group is well uniformed.

Group number two is wearing uniforms. they wore all kinds of uniforms form other schools. After this show, we thought our school winter uniform is the most beautiful, but our Summer uniform is the ugliest. Also, from this presentation, we could see different kinds of styles and colors of uniforms to be able to compare with our own.

Group number three prepared sport topic. you can see from this picture, everyone wore their shorts, hat, and t-shirts.


This group is very special because they combine formal clothing with informal clothing. This group has the story of a woman before going out and after went out. You can see a girl with a un-wearing tie.

This project is enjoyable for everyone. Every single person in each team worked so hard. If they have different opinions, they can deal with it. I think this project is meaningful for them and for me.

My Classroom

Every year, I want to decorate something different into my classroom. I always ask students to do some projects. This year, I had the unity on technology, so they can create it and make it into posters.

Junior Two Project


This is my junior two project for oral test. They have to create a piece of technology. they do not need to make it, they have to draw the picture and make it into a poster presentation, so we will have an idea what is the product.
This class junior two G made a "Moving Hotel." They said if you are traveling all over and you do not have any place to stay, you can bring this little box. What this little box can do for you? this box can became a six star hotel for you to relax. Now, you do not need to worry where are you going and do not worry if the hotel you are staying is good for you or not. you can just do is using this box.
After their presentation, I really want this box, too. i know this is impossible, but one day who knows it can be come true or not.
What imagination they have! I really enjoyed their presentation.

Comics

My Oral test topic for my Junior three (ninth graders) is to create comic poster. I gave them a topic and they have to draw 10 pictures and write the shortest sentence that people can be understood.

I divide this work into pair work. Some of the groups put a lot of effort and some other groups did not even put any efforts. This class, J3E, they put a lot of effort into this test. This is my best class and the best project ever seen in my life. I am very happy with them. they did a great job!

This is the piece of work from Shaiya and Amy. They did a picture of the train. The story behind is the father of the girl in the story is working in a train station, he earned a lot of money, but until one day, the girl's family became poor. The girl was thinking how to help her family. She wanted to study harder and harder to be able to college and earn money. She said, "Dad do not worry, I will make money for you." That is meaningful story.

Mr. Happy's Adventure is also a fun story of a man who is traveling all over, he did not have any girlfriend. Even he is traveling all over, but he always felt lonely. Until one day, he met a girl who wants to be his girlfriend. Mr. happy is so happy forever.


A pig father and the pig baby went for a walk one day. the baby pig saw 10 dollars and 5 dollars coin. He asked his father if he could pick up the money. The father answered, "Which one would you pick up, the five or the ten?" The baby said 10 of course. He picked up the money and he contributed to his class at his school. I though this is a cool learning story.

One young person always wanted to live in a dark. He is always sad, he always wanted to kill people, but until one day, he discovered himself that he is very valuable in this life. From that time, his life changed completely.

This is also a nice story of two girls that after graduating from high school, they did not see each other. One day, they met accidentally. They were chatting and they were happy ever since.

This poster is very political. This theme is very similar to the Chinese diplomat came to Taiwan. At that time, they met problems.

When people forget something in their lives, they have to learn how to apologize or say sorry. No excuse is good when you hurt somebody. I think this is a good learning lesson for all of students.
